Originally a dated getaway, this full-scale transformation reimagines a family vacation home as a sophisticated sanctuary tailored for large-scale multi-generational entertaining.

The renovation centered on "opening up" the home—both literally and figuratively. By expanding the footprint and removing restrictive partitions, we established an intuitive flow between the kitchen and the primary living areas and the deck. This openness extends outdoors to a new, expansive deck where a dual-sided fireplace provides a year-round focal point for gatherings.

The redesign is defined by its restraint; we moved away from heavy, dated wood tones toward a softened, contemporary palette of natural textures and modern finishes. The result is a high-functioning, light-filled environment that balances the ruggedness of its Tahoe setting with refined, modern utility.
